As I write, summer in Iowa is winding down. Many have endured unprecedented devastation with the June rains and are hard at work putting the pieces of their lives back together. A lot has been accomplished and much remains to be done. In spite of the tremendous difficulties, Iowans still revelled in the spectacle of RAGBRAI and are turning out in record numbers at the State Fair. I feel lucky to live amongst such resilient, optomistic and hard working people.
Here at home, the summer has been filled with work, gigs and time spent with friends and family. The garden definitely took a hit from Mother Nature, but is finally producing. Fresh tomatoes, summer squash, basil and peppers fill baskets on our kitchen table.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you look around and stay awhile. Come on out to a gig, if you can, or just drop a note to say hi.
